Concrete is a stone artificial material, which is prepared on an industrial scale. It is now widely used in various fields, in particular, in construction. The brand of concrete, its strength characteristics and composition are compulsorily determined as per the design for multi-storey, civil and private construction. Concrete is the leading material in construction and, according to scientists, will remain to be so at least for coming 40-60 years. At the same time, the process of concrete production has changed little over the past half-century. Although the process of its production is not time-consuming and constructively the equipment used is simple and inexpensive. We asked Kanlybaev  Aset Nurdauletovich to tell us about the concrete and Aksay Beton Kyrylys Company.

The technology of concrete production was known even to ancient Sumerians, who widely used it 4000-5000 years ago. Later, the technology was adopted by the Babylonians, Egyptians and other civilizations. Recently, Serbia discovered a building of 7600 years old, the floor of which is covered with a 25-centimeter layer of limestone-based concrete. Ancient building material, of course, differs from the modern one, but the principle remains the same: the binding material by means of water binds the ballast filler (sand, stones, straw). After drying, the blend becomes very durable. After millennia, the ancient Romans perfected the technology. They found that the abundance of volcanic materials like tuff, pumice in the Apennines, in combination with water, sand, rubble become strong as a stone after tamping and drying it. Until now, the largest building, the dome of which is entirely made of unreinforced concrete, remains the Pantheon, erected by the Romans many centuries ago. Since then, scientists in many countries have been looking for alternative binders that can replace volcanic materials. An important contribution was made by the French bridge engineer Louis Vic. He found that with a mixture of limestone and clay, an effective binder is obtained. In 1828, he built a bridge with the use of cement, and in 1840 he presented to the public with the modified material called Portland Cement, which has been massively used so far.

The process of concrete mixtures production for further sale on the construction market is considered one of the progressive ideas of the present day. After all, almost all spheres of construction require concrete; it is indispensable in industrial and private use. Demand for concrete mixes is high in metropolis that are under intensive construction, and during the construction season (from the beginning of summer to October) the demand keeps on increasing. Technologically, concrete production process is simple: just mix the ingredients thoroughly according to the mix formulation. The connection of sand, crushed stone and cement in the required volumes is a guarantee of the quality of the finished product. The concrete is divided by the degree of gravity, the degree of mobility, stiffness, brands and ratio of binding agent and aggregate. It can be used both for construction of small country houses and for erection of huge household utilities. In the latter case, it is necessary to consider the strength characteristics and the acting load. Well rings are widely appreciated by customers. They are manufactured strictly in accordance with GOST requirements. They are mainly used for construction of manholes, drainage, gas and sewerage wells, which are designed both for industrial facilities, large facilities and for private buildings. Neither engineering development nor architectural project are possible without them. Well rings are intended to shape a shaft, that is, the well itself, while the bottom and the lid already isolate its space, strengthen it. After all, they are based on high-strength steel wire, which protects against destruction and deformation. Concrete, which is used in the production of rings, must be of good quality.
